Following a recent tweet from President Trump, the war between the White House and the media seems far from over.
Trump recently posted a video on his twitter account where he appeared to be body-slamming the CNN logo. The original video was taken approximately a year ago at WrestleMania but this time around the CNN logo was placed over the face of Trump’s opponent.
The hashtag under the post read “Fake News Network, #FNN.” The video was also posted by the official POTUS twitter account.
Many CNN employees and other journalists were outraged by the violence insinuated in the video–Trump’s direct ferocious act towards the media.
Some journalists claimed this video could incite other attacks on media organizations, since the posting of this video indicates the President encourages this type of behavior.
Dean Baquet, the executive editor of The New York Times, was one of many journalists to express their concern.
“I think it is unseemly that the president would attack journalists for doing their jobs, and encourage such anger at the media.”
