On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute welcomed former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and experts from the Office of Religion and Global Affairs to discuss in what ways the State Department is engaging religious actors and institutions to:

  1. promote sustainable development and more effective humanitarian assistance;
  2. advance pluralism and human rights; and
  3. prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflict and contribute to local and regional stability and security.

The event was moderated by Charles C. Haynes, director of the Religious Freedom Center.
